🍂 FALL IS A GREAT TIME TO LOOK UP! 🌳

As the leaves start to fall, defects that were hidden by a full canopy can become much easier to spot for homeowners.

Before winter arrives, take a look for:
• Dead or hanging branches
• Cracks or splits in major limbs
• Decay or cavities

Winter weather can put additional stress on compromised trees. A little attention now can help identify potential hazards before they become a bigger problem.

We offer property evaluations for free to evaluate the health of all trees on your property.

We're still here and the crew has been busy getting after it. Eric is not good at taking pictures and I have not been out on a job in a minute so I do not have many new pictures to post. This was a beast of an Oak tree our crew removed for a local company.

Here at EK Tree Service we operate all year long. We often get asked if it is okay to trim trees in the winter. Below are some benefits to trimming trees in the winter. Small businesses as ours need all the support we can get to make it through winter time.

Fewer pests and diseases: Harmful insects and disease-carrying fungi are inactive or dead in cold weather, which protects fresh pruning cuts from infections.

Dormancy: trees go into a dormant phase so pruning causes less stress.

Less chance of lawn damage: Hard, frozen ground supports heavy equipment and foot traffic without tearing up your grass or compacting your soil.

We are booked into December, get on our schedule now to get your trees trimmed before the heavy snow and ice come. Snow and ice are very hard on trees and can cause lots of damage to your trees.

Eric and I were out until about 9PM last night helping a homeowner with a Douglas Fir tree that split in the storm yesterday. The broken lead was caught up in another tree but was threatening the neighbor's house. We addressed the safety concern last night and our crew cleaned everything up this morning.

Now that I can breathe a little with the chaos from the storms settling, I would like to say thank you to everyone. Eric and I were blown away by the amount of people that reached out. I was helping on an emergency job with Eric for a few hours one morning, when I started helping I had only a few voicemails on the phone. All were answered and taken care of. When I took a break a couple hours later and checked the phone our voicemail box was full. It was definitely very overwhelming being our first huge storm operating as we are. We definitely saw where improvement is needed in our operations behind the scenes. We take everything as a learning opportunity and try to continuously find ways to improve. Thank you to all of you that share our posts, tell people about us and trust us to work for you! We are so grateful!

A huge shout out to our crew, they are troopers. Each one of our crew members had over 60 hours in the week of the storm. We could not do this without them.
