ONE MINUTE HOMEOWNER SCHOOL

Today's lesson: What the heck are soffit and fascia?

You've probably heard contractors use these words....but what do they actually mean?

👉 FASCIA is the board that runs along the edge of your roof. It's usually where your gutters are attached.

👉 SOFFIT is the underside of your roof overhang-the part you see when you stand next to your house and look up.

Why you should care?
These two little areas do some pretty important jobs. They help protect your roof from moisture, pests and weather-and your soffit can also help ventilate your attic.

🔴 Things homeowners should watch for:
Peeling or bubbling paint
Soft or rotting areas
Sagging sections
Water stains
Gaps where birds or pests could get in
Gutters beginning to pull away from the house

💡 Homeowner Trick: Next time you're walking around your house, look UP. Most of us rarely look underneath out roofline, which means damage can sit there unnoticed.

Not your everyday repair project!

A car ran straight into this carport causing quite a bit of damage.

Our crew is now on site getting everything opened up, secured, and ready to be put back together. These are the kinds of projects where you don't know the full extent of the damage until you start getting into it.

Here's a little behind the scenes look at where we are right now. There's still plenty of work ahead, but it'll be fun to share the progress and eventually see this space put back together again.

Small signs around your home can point to bigger problems.

Take a few minutes this week to walk through the inside AND outside of your home. Keep an eye out for:

🔨Cracks forming around walls, ceilings, or trim
💧Water stains or discoloration.
🚪Doors or windows that sudenly stick
🏚 Missing or damaged shingles
🪟Cracked or deteriorating caulk around the windows
🍂Loose, damaged, or clogged gutters

Catching an issue early can often mean a simpler repair-and help take care of your home from the inside out.
