Over the winter I got to upgrade these stairs for Rothrock Kitchen and Bath Remodeling as part of one of their remodel projects. Their client went from carpet to red oak that matched the rest of their floors. Stairs are always an excellent opportunity for precision, and always delivers an excellent level of coordination throughout the project!

Had an interesting one this week. Was tasked with skinning the tops of these beautiful arched doorways on what used to be a fire station. Decided on kerfed MDO plywood for the main surface with a built in place mahogany lamination for the edge band. It was fun to balance the door stop reveals with the shape of the arch substrate. Can’t wait to see how they look after paint! Last picture shows the before condition.

Here is a custom nightstand set from 2024.

Solid walnut waterfall case with Australian Eucalyptus drawers.

The same approach I try and bring to built-ins and finish work, just scaled down a bit.

Lately I have been focusing more on interior carpentry, but I’m always open to the right custom projects!

This was a small project with a nice outcome. Custom fireplace surround, built to add depth and warmth without being overcomplicated. Made with some lightly figured rosewood and a maple back band.

54’ of beam that was built in sections, stain matched, and brought together on site.

This one was all about planning ahead. Getting the details right early made our install process smooth, even at this scale.

It really fills the space and makes the room feel complete.

Started work on our box beam install this week!

We’re in the process of setting our rough blocking and building the inner framework the beam sections will attach to. Proper layout, consistency, and precision now will ensure every piece is exactly where it needs to be.

Looking forward to bringing it all together!

The original wood door here had run its course.

For this install, we decided on a fiberglass slab to better handle the exposure. Then it was just a matter of keeping the look and character of the original door. A Therma-Tru Classic Craft Fir Grain door was the perfect blend of both.

Every project calls for a slightly different approach, and this one was about prioritizing durability without giving up what made the entryway unique.

A simple, elegant mantel from last spring.

I never made it back for final photos after paint, but the details on this one were worth a share. The legs were built with miter-folded panels and carefully scribed into the brick surround. Scroll to the end to see them.

Really pleased with how this one turned out.

This project involved creating a large elliptical arch between the kitchen and living room. Curves like this take careful layout and a lot of attention to detail, but they can completely change the feel of a space.

I always enjoy opportunities to build something a little different and keep pushing my skills.

I’m currently booking work into May — feel free to reach out if you have a project you’d like to discuss.
