🚧 Project Update | Pingree Grove WWTP 🚧

Exciting progress continues at the Pingree Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant as IHC crews reach several key milestones!

✅ Oxidation Ditch Upgrade: Completed upgrades to the final existing oxidation ditch.
✅ Aerobic Digester Improvements: Completed installation of the new 70-foot-diameter fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) dome at the existing aerobic digester.
✅ Electrical Work: Electrical improvements at the aerobic digester are nearing completion, bringing the facility one step closer to operation.
✅ Site Restoration: Site restoration is officially underway, with mass grading activities beginning.

🚧 Project Update | Foster Avenue Bridge over I-90/Kennedy Expressway & CTA Railroad 🚧

Progress continues on the Foster Avenue Bridge project as IHC crews near completion of the bridge deck framing! Crews are finalizing the framing around the girders and diaphragms, while our reinforcing steel subcontractor, Gateway, has begun installing deck rebar.

🏗️ Fun Fact: The bridge deck alone will contain approximately 190,000 pounds of reinforcing steel! This reinforcement plays a critical role in providing the strength and durability needed to support the bridge for years to come.

🚧 Project Update | Moline South Slope WRF 🚧

With a beautiful sunrise as the backdrop, IHC crews got an early start on the mass concrete wet wall pour at the Headworks Building, totaling 252 cubic yards of concrete.

🚧 Project Update | I-74 Bridge Replacement 🚧

A major milestone has been reached on our I-74 Bridge Replacement project with the successful er****on of all eight structural beams in just one night!

Each beam measured over 153 feet long and required two cranes positioned behind the new abutments for installation. The operation involved lifting beams from the westbound lane of the existing bridge, with work carefully coordinated around a full I-74 westbound detour and 15-minute incremental lane closures on IL-17.

With all eight beams successfully installed by Clausen Structures, the project can now move forward with false decking and forming for the final bridge deck.

🚧 Project Update | Moline South Slope WRF 🚧

The IHC team recently completed the final lower wall pour for Final Clarifier #3, with two pours totaling 60 cubic yards of concrete. Next, crews will move on to the upper portion of the clarifier walls, adding another 18 cubic yards.

Several major milestones are also coming across the site, including a 250-cubic-yard mass concrete wall pour at the Main Headworks Building, excavation for Final Clarifier #4, and work on the ultraviolet (UV) disinfection structure.

As Moline Mayor Sangeetha Rayapati shared, “Investing in the South Slope WTP allows us to meet today’s needs while preparing for future growth and ensuring efficient, reliable water treatment for our community for generations to come.”

We’re proud to be part of an important investment in Moline’s infrastructure and its future.

Our Annual Safety Awards brought our team together at the Pingree Grove shop to recognize the hardworking tradesmen and tradeswomen who continue to make safety a priority on every jobsite. Of course, the celebration wouldn’t be complete without some well-earned BBQ and awards!

For more than 25 years, this event has been an opportunity to recognize the people behind our projects and thank them for their commitment to working safely while helping build and improve communities throughout Illinois.

🚧 Project Update: Route 14 Grade Separation | Barrington, Illinois

Our IHC crew poured 280 cubic yards of concrete for the North Abutment Stem Wall of the WCL Railroad Bridge, continuing steady progress on the new structure.

Up next, our crew will begin construction of the North Abutment Backwall and Center Pier Stem Wall!

🚧 Progress Update: BNR Improvements – Aeration Basin Modifications | Four Rivers Sanitation Authority, Rockford

Progress continues at the Four Rivers Sanitation Authority as our crews work to install new equipment throughout the aeration basins.

Recent work includes the completion of the center walkway concrete demolition and replacement, along with the installation of new pipe supports and air supply piping. The new piping will supply air to the aeration diffuser system below, supporting the facility’s biological treatment process.

With infrastructure in place, crews are continuing equipment installation as improvements throughout the aeration basins move forward.

This past Thursday, we had the honor of celebrating Association for Individual Development 65th Anniversary at the Sapphire Soirée at Lincoln Inn Banquets in Batavia!

It was a wonderful evening filled with great food, entertainment, and auctions—all in support of AID’s mission. Proceeds from the evening will help AID continue providing vital services to nearly 5,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and crisis needs throughout our communities.
