manufactured concrete blocks compressed by hydraulic pressure. From there we moved through different eras of construction as

⛳ Throwback to June 22 and IHC’s 13th Annual Tee It Up! Golf Outing & Fundraiser!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our golfers, sponsors, and supporters, this year’s outing raised more than $17,000 to benefit the Association for Individual Development (AID) and the Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area (FSA).

We were also honored to hear from AID’s Associate Vice President of Resource Development, Christie Plotzke, and Chief Operations Officer, Bernadette May, who shared more about the important work their organization does and the impact these funds have on the individuals and families they serve.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, participated, sponsored, and helped make our 13th annual outing another success. We’re proud to support organizations that make a meaningful difference in our community every day.

🚧 Project Update | Pingree Grove WWTP 🚧

Progress continues at the Pingree Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant as IHC works to enhance the facility’s treatment capacity and long-term performance.

Crews are currently upgrading the existing oxidation ditch structure to accommodate a new 75-horsepower disc aerator, following the completion of demolition and structural upgrades to the existing digester. Work is also beginning on process piping for the new aeration system and five submersible mixers.

Once the remaining improvements are complete and the new systems are fully in service, the upgraded plant will be equipped to treat an average of 2 million gallons per day, with the capacity to handle flows of up to 6 million gallons per day.

Another step forward in building the infrastructure needed to support a growing community. 💧

🚧 Project Update | Moline South Slope WRF 🚧

Another milestone is complete at the Moline South Slope Water Reclamation Facility, where IHC crews recently completed the new final clarifier base slab.

This work is part of a major modernization of one of the region’s critical infrastructure facilities, which serves Moline, Coal Valley, and portions of East Moline. Throughout construction, the facility will remain fully operational as crews work to upgrade aging systems and improve treatment processes.

Another step forward as the South Slope WRF continues to take shape!

Last month, IHC had the privilege of celebrating Family Service Association of Greater Elgin Area's 95th Anniversary at The Haight — a beautiful evening honoring 95 years of service and impact in our community.

IHC was incredibly honored to receive FSA’s Community Service Award, recognizing our longstanding partnership and commitment to the children and families they serve. Through this partnership, IHC has helped sustain FSA’s Flex Funds, providing families with access to critical resources to meet their needs during some of their most challenging times.

We’re grateful to FSA for this meaningful recognition and, more importantly, for the incredible work they continue to do every day. Congratulations on 95 years of serving our community — IHC is proud to support your mission! 💛

Yesterday, two teams from IHC had a great time participating in the 2026 Sporting Clays Classic at Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation, benefiting the Three Fires Council, Scouting America.

For decades, IHC has been proud to stand behind the Three Fires Council and its mission. This annual event is always a great opportunity for friendly competition, camaraderie, and time together outside the office — all for a great cause.

One IHC team member walked away an especially big winner — Project Manager Victor won a brand-new gun! 🎉

Thank you to the Three Fires Council and Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation for another great event. We’re proud to continue our longstanding relationship with an organization that makes a lasting impact in our communities!

🚧 Project Update | U.S. Route 14 Grade Separation – Barrington, IL 🚧

IHC recently completed the North Abutment Footing pour, placing 157 cubic yards of concrete for the new railroad bridge. At the same time, crews were hard at work driving sheet pile for the Center Pier Cofferdam, with both operations progressing simultaneously.

With the footing complete, the team is moving on to construction of the North Abutment Stem Wall.

Another major step forward as the new railroad bridge continues to take shape!

🚧 Project Update | I-74 Bridge Replacement 🚧

Progress continues on the I-74 Bridge Replacement Project!

IHC recently worked alongside Keller North America to install more than 500 wick drains, helping accelerate settlement of the new bridge embankment. With the wick drains in place, IHC is now working alongside Miller Excavating to raise the embankment more than 15 feet, creating a strong foundation for the new bridge abutment.

Meanwhile, crews have begun surveying and driving the test pile for the south abutment. Once the remaining piles are driven, the team will move forward with forming, reinforcing, and pouring the abutment.

Following the required settlement period, construction will shift to the north side as the project continues taking shape.

🚧 Progress Update 🚧 | MWRD Stickney Battery A & Battery B Mechanical Mixers

Another major pour is in the books at IHC’s Stickney project!

The team recently completed the 6th pour of the Transfer Slab, bringing the total to approximately 1,200 cubic yards of concrete placed. With just under 400 cubic yards remaining, we’re officially in the homestretch!

Once complete, the micropile-supported transfer slab will help protect MWRDGC’s Battery A Effluent Conduit below while allowing heavier traffic to safely travel over the slab and finished F Street.

Great progress by the Stickney team as we move closer to completing this critical piece of infrastructure! 🏗️

IHC is proud to be featured in Business View’s latest edition of Civil & Municipal, highlighting the Village of Pingree Grove’s continued growth and investment in infrastructure.

As the community continues to grow, IHC is honored to play a role in expanding and improving Pingree Grove’s Wastewater Treatment Plant to help meet the demands of its rapidly growing population. Improvements include doubling the plant’s treatment capacity, constructing a new preliminary and primary treatment building, upgrading the influent pump station, expanding secondary treatment units, and replacing existing tertiary treatment units.

We’re proud to be part of the infrastructure supporting Pingree Grove’s future.
