Recently, due to high temperatures and humidity I have seen the several homes with AC duct work that has been sweating or with condensation that are leaking onto the ceilings and causing mold growth. You can’t see the moisture in many cases without the use of a thermal imaging camera. The HVAC companies are attributing this to either poor attic ventilation or malfunctioning air handler fans but the cause may also be the ducts themselves needing better insulation.
