To celebrate 🐈 the Bay family voted on our team’s pets dressed up in Bay Brothers attire.

⭐️ It was a close call, but Bruno (first picture) won the contest!

🐱 Our runner-up, Mitzi, can be found in the second picture.

🐶 Bruno was rescued from the Salvation Army and welcomed into the Bay Family as Aaron’s pet. With Aaron’s busy schedule, the team thought Bruno would be the best low maintenance pet for him.

🦮 Bruno is a wonderful addition to the Bay Family who also serves as our team mascot.

✨ One of our owners, Aaron, is on the board of a non-profit providing education in the rural areas of Sierra Leone for villages that do not have state sponsored schools.

✨ On the last trip, we provided much needed concrete flooring for this school.

Happy Earth Day! 🌎

Today, we are also celebrating Sarah, who has been a part of the Bay Family as our Business Manager for going on 5 years 💙

To honor her anniversary, we had the chance to get to know Sarah better. Here is what she had to say:

1. What energizes you at work? I love helping our employees grow. Pointing to their strengths and encouraging their confidence so they shine!

2. What’s one thing that surprised you about working at Bay Brothers? My role allows me to cultivate company culture. I was surprised by how much I truly love that part of my job.

3. What are you learning now and why is it important to you? Grit and Grace. The ability to dig in when it gets hard and the grace to let things fall when it isn’t all perfect.

4. What’s the top destination that you wish to visit? I love Grand Cayman. The sun, sand, and the sound of the ocean! ☀️

5. What advice would you give your teenage self and why? Don’t let anyone direct your sail, but should you get off course, just know what is intended for you will never pass you by. You have to live a little (or a lot) to gain the wisdom to appreciate the prize.

6. What is your favorite aspect of the earth? I love the wind. The calming movement when I am having a day where I need to reset, I go out and put my face to the wind, and breathe deeply… It’s always what my spirit needs to quiet the noise around me.

How long have you worked in storm restoration? 11 years

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Japan — to learn their skills and reasons for how they build. Also, I have never explored there before.

In honor of we wanted to share the Bay Brothers backstory:

With much heart, vision and grit coupled with the desire to do it differently, the birth of Bay Brothers Company was brought to fruition by the three Beaty brothers, Jesse, Aaron and Josiah. Pronounced “Bay-ty”, their namesake inspired the now renowned mid-atlantic renovation contracting company. After decades in the industry, the brothers saw areas of need in customer service and commitment to quality where they knew they could make a difference.

In 2016, the brothers took their decades of experience and passion and became incorporated, bringing on their first employee, Sarah Ismail as their full time Business Manager, from their growing to a team of 16 by the end of 2017 and completing over one million dollars in sales and doubling that sales mark in 2018.

The company has had continued steady growth since then. In 2019, Bay Brothers acquired their Virginia Class A license followed by their Pennsylvania license in 2020. The Beaty Brothers run the company on a few core values: integrity, excellent customer service, developing our staff’s skill sets and providing economic stability to the Bay Family. Since Bay Brothers was founded, over 500 customers' homes have been restored and three employees have been able to purchase their first home. To the brothers, this is the greatest accomplishment of all. Pouring into each customer & employee is the heart of how it all started.
