This home out in Harper, KS was insulated with 2” of closed cell foam on the walls and 5” of open cell foam on the roof deck. Open cell foam is a great option when space allows. You still get a lot of the good benefits that you would get with closed cell foam while also getting really good sound deadening. This is a body shop we did for a repeat customer in Wichita. We sprayed this building with 2” closed cell foam all the way around. Compared to the traditional fiberglass rolls that are usually installed in an application like this the foam will help cut the cost of heating/cooling significantly while also giving the building a nice air, v***r, and moisture barrier. You’ll never have to worry about wet or moldy fiberglass eventually rotting the metal or giving the rodents a place to nest. This customer saw the work that we did at another job (previous post) and decided he wanted the same thing. We sprayed 2” of closed cell foam insulation to all the walls and ceiling and then came back and painted everything 8’ off the ground white. We sprayed 3” on the roof deck of this home and made sure that all the roof trusses got wrapped with foam to help with thermal bridging. We also sprayed all the rim joist, the rest of the house will get fiberglass batt/blow in.

The customers had a Quonset hut that was unbearable to work in the summer and winter. We came and sprayed 2” of closed cell to the interior and will be back to coat the outside with a white Elastomeric coating. This will extend the life of the building tremendously while also insuring its completely waterproof.

This customer had us spray the entire house with 5” open cell foam. This is the same house that we sprayed 2” closed cell under the concrete pad awhile ago for his heated floor. This house will be extremely efficient and being that it’s located near a major highway the foam will help tremendously with keeping the outside noise out of the house.
