Just wrapped up this install on a Friday morning out in the Mt. Helix area.

Inside, we put in a new furnace and coil, a new drain, and redid the gas line with a sediment trap and shutoff valve. We rewrapped the insulation coming down and added a 4 inch filter.

Outside, the old 1985 Rheem was sitting in a spot where the house has no gutters, so it was getting beat up by the water every time it rained. We moved the new unit over to a better spot, reinsulated the line set, and added a surge protector.

The new outdoor unit is a heat pump, so this home is now dual fuel. They can heat with the gas furnace or with the heat pump, whichever makes sense.

All done out in Descanso. This one was a two-part job.

On the HVAC side, Steve and I put in a new air handler with a new condensate pump, cleaned up the drain routing, and added a surge protector. Outside is a new AC Pro B Series inverter unit.

On the solar side, he had two older SMA string inverters that had gone bad, so the array wasn't doing anything for this house. Josh and the crew swapped them for two new Tesla inverters in about three hours, and the system is back up and running.

The house is all electric, so now he can heat and cool with his own solar instead of paying SDG&E for it.

Watch for the BEFORE photos of the old furnace and old inverters.

Wrapping up an install in Alpine today. Started at 7:30 and finished around 11:15. This one came as a referral, and we never take that for granted.

The old outdoor unit was pulling too many amps and tripping the breaker. We swapped it for a new inverter unit, leveled and set clean.

Up in the attic we replaced the furnace with a propane conversion, put in a new matching coil, adapted the ducting, added a 5-inch filter, redid the drains with a safety switch, and installed a gable fan. That attic was hitting about 140 degrees in the heat wave.

Wrapping up an install in Clairemont today. This one came to us as a referral from another customer, and we never take that for granted.

The old outdoor unit was from 1985 and still running R-22. We set the new inverter unit up on blocks, leveled it, and put gravel down so it drains clean and sits right for years.

Inside, the furnace was still in good shape, so we kept it. We put in a new matching evaporator coil, redid the drains, and added a safety switch so a clogged drain shuts the system off before it turns into water damage.

Watch for the BEFORE photos to see what we replaced.

San Diego hit 105 this weekend, the first October 100 since 1987, and the heat wave is not done yet.

Progress day on a heat-pump install in Descanso with Steve while East County is still cooking. Outdoor unit in, air handler in, old propane furnace out. House going all-electric with a big solar array. Tesla inverters Friday.

If your AC is struggling through this stretch, we are booked for service and installs across San Diego County.
