🍷🐾 Wags & Wine is back!

Join us on June 20 & July 18 from 5 PM–7 PM for an evening of wine, wagging tails, and garden fun. Thanks to our local partner, San Pasqual Winery, guests will enjoy a wine tasting while spending time with fellow dog lovers in a beautiful outdoor setting.

🌳 Yucca rostrata – Beaked Yucca🌳

A dramatic architectural yucca prized for its perfectly rounded crown of blue-gray leaves and exceptional drought tolerance. Native to the deserts of Texas and northern Mexico, Beaked Yucca brings bold texture and sculptural beauty to dry gardens and modern landscapes.

Common Name: Beaked Yucca
Family Name: Asparagaceae (Asparagus Family)
Botanical Name: Yucca rostrata
Geographic Origin: Northern Mexico

Height: 6–15 ft
Width: 4–8 ft
Form/Habit: Slow-growing, upright sculptural form with a symmetrical rounded crown
Bark & Stems: Thick solitary trunk covered with textured fibers and old leaf bases over time
Leaves: Narrow blue-gray leaves with pointed tips forming dense globe-like rosettes
Flowers: Tall flower spikes with clusters of creamy white bell-shaped blooms in spring to early summer
Fruit: Dry capsule containing black seeds

The Water Conservation Garden Authority Board and our Director of Garden Operations, Lauren Magnuson, proudly presented our new donor wayfinding signage at this month’s board meeting.

We are fortunate to have truly incredible volunteers and donors who have collectively contributed more than 25,000 hours to the success of the Garden over the past 25 years.

This honor is awarded to volunteers who have demonstrated exemplary volunteer service, contributed to exhibit and educational enhancements, and consistently supported the Garden at an exceptional level.
