Time for an upgrade. 20 year old American Standard had a refrigerant leak and the customer opted to replace the entire system. Our team got them a massive upgrade in efficiency jumping from an 80% efficient gas furnace all the way up to a 97% and from a maybe 10SEER at best air conditioner to a 17.2 SEER. This system made by Daikin will provide them much more optimal comfort throughout the year, with better more consistent temperature and humidity controls. This is a full modulating system that has the capability to only run at the capacity it needs to keep up with the demand of their house. No more bursts of heat and periods of cold between heating cycles in the winter. Just consistent temperature. We also relocated their air conditioner under their deck so it stays out of sight, and out of mind. These new units run so quietly that it’s less noticeable right underneath of you than the old one was 25’ away. This freed up some space for the customer to complete other projects around their house.

This customer had a unique situation. They recently bought a house that was on all electric heat, and quickly grew very tired of the energy bills and cold air that come with it. The air handlers and heat pumps were almost brand new though so we didn’t want to replace them if we didn’t have to. They already had prpane at the house for a generator, so Our team designed a system with a propane boiler that would circulate hot water through a hydronic coil in each air handler, producing a much warmer heat in a much more efficient manor, for a lower cost than replacing both of the systems with a propane furnace.

Some key advantages to this setup

-It adds an additional source of heat in the event another one malfunctions

-It’s usable with a whole home backup generator. Most generators don’t have the capacity to power the heat strips in a furnace adequately during the coldest months of the year along everything else in the house that runs on electric.

-This systems is also able to heat their domestic hot water so they could get rid of their bulky hot water tank and never run short on hot water.

This customer was on all electric heat with outrageous electric bills. They were looking for a more cost effective way to heat their home, so when the time came for a new furnace and AC they got in contact with us. Considering they already had two propane tanks at their house, we decided on a Daikin FIT system with a high efficiency heat pump, and a propane furnace backup for when the temperatures get really cold. Did you know electric resistance heating is one of the most expensive forms of heat there is? Our team came in and set two new propane tanks, corrected multiple code compliance issues with them such as moving the air conditioner away from them, fixed all of the indoor gas piping, and installed a brand new system for them.

Did you know we specialize in Oil heat?

Winter may be winding down, but furnace maintenance is crucial for homeowners relying on oil heat during our long, cold winters. Skipping annual cleanings and tune-ups can lead to inefficiency, higher fuel bills, unsafe operation, and even costly breakdowns when you need heat the most.

Take a look at these before and after photos of a recent cleaning our team did.

The first photos show heavy soot accumulation clogging the burner inlet and coating the combustion area—thick black buildup everywhere, including around the burner tubes and chamber walls. This level of soot restricts airflow, forces the burner to work harder, and increases the chance of sooting up your flue or chimney.

After a thorough professional cleaning (using specialized vacuum tools, brushes, and proper containment to capture the mess), the combustion chamber and burner ports are clear and restored—ready for efficient, clean burning again.
