Check out these stats for paint and selling your home.
In a 2025 survey, real estate agents estimated that fresh paint could add around $12,000 in value to a typical home in their market, and more for higher end homes. 💵
Zillow research found buyers were willing to offer approximately $6,450 MORE for a home with a black front door!
Recently Zillow’s newer research found certain blues, greens, grays and browns will increase what buyers offer, while the wrong color, yellow being one if them, can actually decrease offers.
50% of REALTORS® recommend painting the home before listing, making it the #1 remodeling project agents recommend sellers tackle before selling.
Here is my advice:
If you think you might sell within the next few years, don’t wait until you’re ready to list to paint. “I wish we would’ve done this years ago so WE could have enjoyed it.” I hear almost everytime.
