Water damage doesn’t just stay on the surface — especially when it starts with a slab leak. 💧
We recently completed a hardwood floor demo after a slab leak caused significant moisture intrusion beneath the flooring system. Even though hardwood is durable, prolonged exposure to hidden moisture can lead to:
• Warping & cupping
• Mold growth
• Structural subfloor damage
• Adhesive failure
In this case, the water migrated up from the concrete slab, saturating the hardwood from below. By the time visible signs appeared, the damage had already spread under multiple sections of flooring.
Our process included:
✔️ Moisture mapping & inspection
✔️ Controlled demolition to prevent cross-contamination
✔️ Removal of compromised hardwood & underlayment
✔️ Preparing the slab for proper drying & remediation
If you suspect a slab leak — musty odors, unexplained moisture, or buckling floors — don’t wait. Early detection can save thousands in repairs.
