Suddenly, laundry day isn’t a chore. 🫧

This layout wraps you in a soft, fresh palette that makes washing a breeze.

Believe it or not, we actually made the previous laundry space smaller to allocate room for a new pantry (but that’s for an upcoming post !). By moving a wall, we “right-sized” the footprint to fit a dedicated landing zone for sorting, folding, and line drying over the sink. We also installed a custom hanging rod with integrated lighting to elevate both function and mood.

Of course, we are completely obsessed with the Pink Cristallo countertops and texture-rich Zellige tiles! 💖

From heavy and broken, to airy and uplifting. This bathroom was completely reimagined with a whole new layout that now features an even larger window to frame an idyllic rural view and bring even more of the outside in.  As part of our Art of Staying project, this owners suite oasis balances classic textures with modern function. A full wall of authentic Zellige tile creates the perfect backdrop for tailored cabinetry, Roburn Edgeline medicine cabinets, and our signature “hotel ledge” for the ultimate in vanity function. The shower was not to take a backseat in this space either as it welcomes our homeowner with a steam shower, infinity niche, and a lovely barrel ceiling!

Entice me, entice me! Let me count the ways! This shot shows one of our many favorites from our Art of Staying project. This fixture is very appropriately named Entice because it draws you in to this dining area creating a captivating detail on this planked vaulted ceiling.

This vault made placing it correctly over the table a little bit of a trick! The “belly” of its swoop does not hang in the center of its swag. It hangs nearer the lower end of the vaulted ceiling. Swipe left to see what we used to set the perfect placement… and a video closeup of this beauty!

The Art of Staying

We are thrilled to show you the first photos of our recent project we are calling “The Art of Staying”. (Swipe left to the end for some before shots). This project illustrates the value and sense of place that a family can maintain in a remodel done with purpose and planning.

Let’s start with a few highlights from the kitchen! Our goal here was to clean up the sight-lines, improve function, and lighten up the finishes. What you’re not seeing is all the floor planning that happened behind the vent hood wall to create two new rooms (a pantry and an office space). And…I bet you’re wondering how we got plate depth niches in that same wall, right??! But that’s for another post.

For now let’s just dwell on this almost 14 ft main island topped with a natural quartzite stone called Patagonia Crystallo, surrounded by reeded oak cabinets in dual finishes. Holding its own on the back wall is our primary focal point, a 9 ft bronze hood.

The HOME in EKB Home says we are much more than just kitchens and baths. One example - here, we were tasked to design a master bedroom to fit this modern new construction home. We created the headboard wall with recessed lighting between the furniture finished panels set above upholstered panels. Flanking the bed we created free floating nightstands with pendant lighting. The stunning Moooi chandelier was placed above, and on the opposite wall we designed this beautiful quartzite wrapped fireplace. But nothing can beat that view! Imagine waking up here every morning… and you should see the sunsets!
