Martha’s Vineyard has experienced a lot of snow and rain. Please make sure to check your pool’s water levels. If too high, water can get into cracks and skimmers and under masonry and expand when frozen, causing major damage. A little vigilance can save money and your Summer season.

This 1840s Greek Revival home, known as Nunnepog House, didn’t take advantage of its potential sea views and struggled to accommodate summertime guests. A significant but subtle reimagining—featuring an added wing, a walk-out garden level invisible from the street, a carriage house, and reconceived landscaping—now encourage indoor-outdoor living.

Shown is the rear facade of my home... The rear facade of the home was rather bleak to say the least ! When I moved in I did a few things to brighten the back ...such as adding the dovecotes and changing the house color. The photo 📸 shown is right before they took the roof off the rear of the house. The back of the house had a wooden deck that when I bought the house , this had to go right away! 😱 I wanted the house to relate to the property much better. 🌳 Being an avid gardener the pool was incorporated into the design as well. Always having golden's they had to have a place to swim! 🐶💦😂The back had horrible w**d trees and were replaced by some wonderful maples and dogwood trees. 🌳A second story was added to the back of the house , with the family room expanded, a covered loggia, pergola, a breakfast room that resembled an enclosed porch. 🍃 The original 1940’s house lacked in detail and was renovated to resemble a Cape style cottage with some unique details, such as oversized window and door panes on the back of the house to take advantage of the views to the garden.The floor plan was improved by changing the flow, creating axial views through the house and into the garden. 🍃The achievement of the cottage look on the exterior is complimented by the interior exuding warmth enhanced by a soothing color palette and appropriate architectural details. The garden has been featured on numerous garden tours. 🍃 The house and garden in numerous publications and books and on Homes Across America TV.

In this complete renovation and restoration of an historic Vineyard Federal Colonial, a re-poured foundation allowed for the creation of a walk-out lower level which is invisible from the street but open to the property's pool and Edgartown Harbor beyond.
