Foundation owns and manages 54 residential rental units throughout Preble County that are made available to qualified families and individuals at rates below Fair Market Value (FMV). Our well-maintained rentals set the standard for a safe, quality, and affordable place to call HOME. H.I.T Foundation began offering homeless prevention and rapid rehousing services to local residents in March 2015. By October, the Homeless Services Program expanded, allowing Home Is The Foundation to open Preble County's Emergency Homeless Shelter. The shelter serves as a temporary and safe place to stay and receive support for those individuals and families experiencing a housing crisis in Preble County. We believe older adults should be able to stay safely in their own homes as long as possible. Since 2015, utilizing donations, grants, local contractors and volunteers, the Senior Home Repair Program has helped hundreds of eligible households in Preble County with yard clean-ups, electrical, plumbing, roof repairs/replacements as well as accessibility modifications including ramps, handrails, grab bars, easy open door knobs and ADA bathroom modifications. To apply, you must be 60+ years of age, own your home, and reside in Preble County. Income guidelines also apply, and can be found on the application.
