For homes in flood zones, homes built on piers, or crawl spaces that remain open to the outdoors, closed-cell spray foam on the underside of the floor can be a great alternative. This attic went from a vented, inefficient space to a fully sealed, spray foamed roof deck that now brings the entire area into the home’s thermal boundary. By insulating along the roofline, the ductwork and structure are now inside conditioned space, which significantly improves energy efficiency, comfort, and overall performance of the home. This is a major upgrade that not only reduces energy loss but also creates a more controlled and consistent environment year round.
