This past Monday, we kicked off our annual United Way Week of Giving with breakfast and an opportunity to learn more about the incredible impact United Way and its partner organizations have in our communities.

This year's Heart of Illinois United Way speaker, Heather Robertson, Vice President of Resource Development, shared how the organization continues to make a difference throughout our region. We were also honored to welcome Dr. Derrick Booth, Executive Director of Community Services for Trillium Place, an affiliate of Carle Health, who shared Trillium's mission, the lives they impact every day, and how United Way's community partnerships and funding help strengthen organizations like theirs.

A special thank you to Heather and Dr. Booth for taking the time to share your stories, insights, and the meaningful work your organizations do every day. Your passion and dedication inspire us all to give back and make a difference.

We're excited to kick off another great Week of Giving and celebrate the power of coming together to make a difference. Every gift, no matter the size, helps create stronger, healthier communities and supports organizations that change lives every day.

Summertime = celebration time!

Every summer, our office locations and companies, A & H Steel, MR Mason Contractor, LLC, River City Construction, LLC, and River City Design Group, LLC, come together to celebrate what matters most: safety and the incredible men and women in our field operations.

Our greatest measure of success is ensuring that every employee returns home safely at the end of each day. The dedication, teamwork, and commitment our field crews demonstrate everyday show that safety is more than a priority; it's a core value. Their hard work and unwavering focus on doing the job safely are what make excellence possible on every project.

We’re kicking off our summer intern season and can’t wait for you to meet some new faces! Please join us in welcoming Sam Puent to the RCDG team.

Sam is a student at the University of Missouri studying Architectural Studies with minors in Construction Management and Sustainability. She’s passionate about design, especially after being inspired by her family’s home rebuilding following the Washington Strong tornado.

This summer, Sam is excited to grow her skills in design, software, and collaboration while learning from the team. She’s all about staying curious, open to feedback, and building strong connections.
Fun facts: she’s a proud cat mom, would happily eat a burrito every day, and can do a mean worm on the dance floor

Her motto? “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.”

Construction Safety Week reminds us that safety starts long before the first shovel is in the ground. As architects, we share responsibility for protecting those who bring our designs to life…every day, on every project.

This year, the focus is on three simple but powerful actions: Recognize the risks, Respond with intention, and Respect the people around you. By designing with safety in mind, especially for high-energy, high-hazard conditions, we can help prevent serious injuries and save lives.

We’re ‘All In Together’. Let’s continue to design thoughtfully, collaborate closely, and do our part to ensure everyone goes home safely.
