Had the privilege yesterday morning of hearing Bob Knakal speak at the CT Chapter CCIM. and I walked out genuinely fired up.
If you're in commercial real estate, you know the name. More than 2,400 properties sold, over $24 billion in transactions, and a 42-year career widely considered the most prolific brokerage record in NYC history. A true legend.
But what struck me wasn't the numbers, it was how simple his message was.
Be a decent human being. Specialize and own your lane. Show up with conviction. Do the right thing consistently, not when it's convenient.
Persist. There's a real gap between knowing something and believing it, and Bob closes that gap just by being who he is.
It was also an honor to speak and share how we help brokers build, price, and develop with their prospects, exactly the kind of work that turns conviction into results for clients. To be in the room alongside people of this caliber is a privilege I don't take for granted.
This week I'll be out there "banging my rock," as Bob put it, doing the unglamorous, consistent work that compounds over time.
Thank you to Bob for making the trek up to CT, and to the CCIM CT Chapter for a morning worth remembering.
Also fun hanging with such good people and legends Tom Hill III, CCIM/SIOR, Bryan Atherton, CCIM, SIOR, Avraham Mehl, Renee Stevens, Brandon Rush, CCIM and Jennifer Lynne CCIM
