Back in May our transfer station partnered with Connecticut Tire Stewardship to introduce a new residential tire recycling program!
Under this EPR program our transfer station can accept up to 8 tires a day per resident, free of charge.
This is strictly residential, meaning we cannot accept commercial, industrial, or agricultural tires. We also are not able to accept tires from aircraft’s or toys, tires that are larger than 42 inches in diameter or greater than 120lbs or tires packed with mud, dirt or debris.
You are not required have a sticker to dispose of tires but you must show proof of North / East Canaan residency and check in with the office prior to disposal for documentation!
