THINK BIG!
This four piece precast amine sump system was delivered to a large industrial project in four heavy haul shipments. The base alone weighed more than 250,000 pounds!!!
For precast elements of this scale, transportation routes and onsite lifts must be surveyed and carefully planned. No detail can be left to chance.
The emulative design featured:
✔️More than 200 dowel connections aligned through the base and three risers
✔️Shear-keyed, watertight grouted joints requiring specialized design and installation
✔️Embedded anchor bolt groups designed to connect the sump to the structure above
Historically, a structure of this size and complexity would have been constructed using traditional cast-in-place methods. Waskey’s engineering team used advanced 3D modeling to design this complex precast system.
The result was less work in the field, a shorter installation window, and reduced exposure to labor and weather-related delays.
