Tree roots can completely stop a sewer line.
Jon found the source of this home's sewer backup — tree roots had gotten into the main sewer line and eventually stopped the flow completely.
After locating the problem, Jon excavated the damaged section so we could remove the root intrusion and repair the sewer line properly.
A sewer backup isn't always just a clog. If roots get into a damaged joint or opening in the pipe, they can continue growing until the line is badly restricted or completely blocked.
