In Loving Memory of Calvin Bates
It is with heavy hearts and sadness, only our Savior can carry, we share the passing of Calvin Bates, a loving and thankful husband and family member, and respected friend to everyone in his circle. He was a man of deep conviction and adventurous soul, touching many by his loyalty to family and friends.
He was born in Casper, WY, July 2, 1951, to Melvin and Anna Bates. He joined our Heavenly Father on June 10, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving behind a legacy of gratifying work, much love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Cal was a graduate of Natrona County High School in Casper, WY. He enlisted in the Army August 4, 1970, and served as an Ammunition Specialist at Fort Carson, CO until honorably discharged.
Calvin was an entrepreneur who followed his dreams and God-given talents establishing Calco Concrete Pumping with his wife Jamie with determination, integrity, and unwavering work ethic. His success was not measured solely by what he accomplished professionally but by the relationships he built and the respect he earned from employees, colleagues, customers and friends throughout the years.
Calvin found his greatest pleasure outdoors with people he loved. Whether he was boating on the water and enjoying a ride on wave runners, relaxing at the lake house, exploring back roads on a four-wheeler or snowmobile, or watching the Denver Broncos, he was always seeking the next adventure and a new toy. He had a remarkable ability to bring people together and create priceless memories that last a lifetime.
Cal was known for his warm smile, generous spirit, genuine kindness, and profound wisdom. He valued and made lifelong friendships and could always be counted on with a helpful giving hand, a good story, or a shared laugh. Above all else, Cal was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jamie. Together they shared a life filled with love, partnership, and countless adventures. Their bond was a source of strength and joy that inspired all who knew them.
Calvin is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Bates, great nephew Logan Bates, Uncle Joe Bates and family, mother-in-law Mary Hedges and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rodney and nephew Jeremy Bates.
His kindness, wisdom and unwavering love for his family, many friends, and colleagues will be greatly missed. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the business he enjoyed, friendships he cherished, and the family he loved.
It was once said by a longtime friend, “Tell that Giant of a Man you’re married to, I said hi.”
