Carpenters Job Description/Responsibilities

Custom Home Builder/Designer of high-end homes seeking skilled carpenters and trim carpenters. Construct, erect, install and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wall board, using carpenter's hand tools and power tools. Specializing in distinctive and high end properties.

• Apply shock-absorbing, sound-deadening, or decorative paneling to ceilings or walls.
• Carpenters assemble and fasten materials to make frameworks or props, using hand tools and wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue.
• Build or repair cabinets, doors, frameworks, floors, or other wooden fixtures used in buildings, using woodworking machines, carpenter's hand tools, or power tools.
• Cover subfloors with building paper to keep out moisture and lay hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors by nailing floors to subfloor or cementing them to mastic or asphalt base.
• Carpenters will erect scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Carpenters will finish surfaces of woodwork or wallboard in houses or buildings, using paint, hand tools, or paneling.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Install structures or fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, trim, or hardware, using carpenters' hand or power tools.
• Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
• Carpenters will shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saws.
• Study specifications in blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.

Carpentry Experience

Experience in building and construction trades and enjoy working in a team environment. Must have an attention for detail to provide our clients with a high quality craftsmanship in the construction of their property.

Prepare detailed drawings of architectural designs and plans for building structures according to specifications provided by architect. Join an upscale company providing unique design, attention to detail, and quality construction for its clients.
• Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural designs.
• Calculate heat loss and gain of buildings and structures to determine required equipment specifications, following standard procedures.
• Coordinate structural, electrical and mechanical designs and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
• Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to design specifications and quantity of required materials.
• Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings and structures, based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data.
• Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
• Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms and records.
