Prune while dormant to maintain the correct structure, and again around the summer solstice to keep the size manageable. Keeping my fruit trees small (I keep them around 7 ft tall and about the same width) allows me to fit more varieties in my home landscape and keeps them easier to manage.

Endless Summer hydrangeas are bred to bloom on old and new wood. Pruning too early can mean cutting off future blooms. After a few late freezes, I wanted to be sure that whatever I pruned was really dead wood and not delayed growth.

Planting tomato’s deeply allows for a more extensive root system which translates to a healthier plant. Instead of digging deep holes, I like to plant mine sideways. Same benefits, less effort.

Constant dry windy conditions can be stressful on your landscape. If you’re noticing wilting, dry crispy leaves, or other signs of stress, your plants may be a little wind beaten and dehydrated. I typically only run my drip system once a week this time of year with a slow deep soak, but this week I’m going to run a shorter half cycle mid week to give my plants a little hydration boost.

A few suggestions before you spend money on plants online.
1.Read real reviews. What kind of experience have others had with this company?
2. What, if any, guarantees do they offer? Will they take care of you if the plants arrive in poor condition?
3. Is the website legitimate? Check for things like spelling mistakes, prices that are too good to be true, a web address that doesn’t make sense for what they are selling.
