Thereā€™s something extra satisfying about a space that looks like it was always meant to be there.

For this project, we created custom bookcases that work with the homeā€™s existing architectureā€”from floating shelves tucked into an alcove to built-in shelving that makes use of otherwise overlooked space. And with National Read a Book Day coming up, we couldnā€™t think of a better project to share. šŸ“–

Because when you have a book collection this good, it deserves more than a standard bookshelf.

āœØ Finished Friday meets National Chianti Day! šŸ·

Weā€™re throwing it back to this one-of-a-kind home barā€”and honestly, it still gives us plenty to w**e about.

The showstopper is that gorgeous wraparound live-edge bar top, packed with natural grain, knots, curves, and character. We paired it with a stacked-stone base, warm wood cabinetry, a mixed-wood accent wall, and industrial pipe lighting for a rustic space that feels equal parts cozy and cool.

Itā€™s the perfect place to pour a glass of Chianti, pull up a stool, and admire a bar that refuses to blend in.

And donā€™t worryā€”weā€™ll bring the woodworking. The fava beans are strictly optional. šŸ˜‰šŸ·

TIP TUESDAY: The Laundry Room No One Wants to Be In

Laundry may never be anyoneā€™s favorite choreā€”but the room itself should not make it harder.

Cluttered countertops, nowhere to sort clothes, supplies piled on top of the machines, and no space for folding or hanging can turn laundry day into an even bigger headache.

A few thoughtful features can make the room much easier to use: built-in cabinets, pull-out hampers, a folding counter, hanging rods, drying racks, open shelving, or tall storage for brooms and cleaning supplies.

The goal is not just to make the laundry room prettier. It is to create a space that supports every step of the processā€”from sorting and washing to folding and putting everything away.

You may not love doing laundry, but you can definitely hate the room a little less.
