Norroa by GreenLight Bio

Norroa by GreenLight Bio Norroa delivers science-backed varroa mite control to help beekeepers protect honey bee colonies.

Powered by vadescana and leveraging RNA interference (RNAi), Norroa targets a specific protein in varroa mites to stop their reproduction while keeping bees safe and supporting overall hive health. Field trials have shown long-lasting mite control with one treatment and no negative impact on bee health or brood production. Designed to fit into modern hive management practices, Norroa offers a new mode of action and practical, sustainable mite control for beekeepers.

From the Bee yard: Some of the best moments in beekeeping happen in the quiet parts of the day. ☀️🐝

Long days in the bee yard.
Busy colonies.
Summer forage.
And thousands of bees hard at work.

This season moves fast, but moments like these are a reminder of why so many people fall in love with beekeeping in the first place. 💛

06/16/2026

The bees do the work. 🐝

Once activated, Norroa™ becomes part of the colony's natural brood-feeding process. As nurse bees feed developing larvae, the active ingredient is distributed throughout the hive, helping reach Varroa mites where they reproduce.

This footage was captured during spring buildup in Asheville, NC, when colonies were rapidly expanding. Strategic mite management during this critical period helps support strong colonies through summer and sets the stage for healthier bees heading into fall.

One of the most rewarding parts of beekeeping is watching a thriving colony grow throughout the season. Norroa is designed to fit into normal hive management while reducing labor, minimizing hive disturbance, and helping beekeepers focus on what matters most, their bees.

Some of the best moments in beekeeping happen quietly. 🐝📸

Nature Photography Day is the perfect excuse to slow down and appreciate the details happening throughout the season, from busy foragers and blooming summer forage to active colonies in the field.

This photo was captured by Tori, a member of the Norroa™ team, during a visit to the apiary.

Beekeeping gives us a front row seat to some incredible moments in nature every day.

June is one of the busiest times in the hive. 🐝☀️

Across the season, colonies are raising brood, collecting forage, supporting pollination, and building strength during peak activity.

This time of year is a reminder of just how important healthy pollinators are to agriculture and ecosystems alike.

Beekeeping comes with a learning curve, and every beekeeper starts somewhere. 🐝

Whether you manage:
• 1 hive
• 10 hives
• Or hundreds

There’s always something new to learn each season.

🐝 Adam checked in from North Dakota after recent storms moved through the area.

Fortunately, his colonies appear to be doing well, but severe weather is always a reminder of the challenges beekeepers face throughout the season.

🐝 Meet Eric!
Eric's path into beekeeping started through a company that sourced bee products directly from commercial beekeepers, and he's been hooked ever since.
Today, Eric manages around 50 honey bee colonies in the mountains of Western North Carolina and hopes to grow his operation to 80–100 colonies in the coming years. Before joining GreenLight Biosciences, he helped manage hundreds of colonies across multiple states while providing live beekeeping demonstrations and educational programs.

Fun fact: Eric first met GreenLight years before joining the team while managing the hives on the company's corporate campus and teaching employees about honey bees. He also came up with the trade name Norroa™.

One of Eric's favorite parts of beekeeping is helping people see the inside of a hive for the first time and watching their perspective on bees completely change.
When he's not working with bees, Eric enjoys hiking and backpacking and spending time with his wife and two young children, who are already becoming familiar with beekeeping themselves.

If you see Eric at a conference, field day, or bee meeting, be sure to stop by and say hello! 👋🐝

Healthy pollinators play an essential role in supporting ecosystems, agriculture, and food production around the world. 🌎🐝

World Environment Day is a reminder that supporting bee health also means supporting the environments and forage systems pollinators depend on throughout the season.

At Norroa, we believe healthier colonies and thoughtful agricultural innovation go hand in hand with long term environmental stewardship.

Summer buildup is in full swing. 🐝☀️

Right now many colonies are
• Raising brood
• Collecting nectar and pollen
• Expanding population
• Supporting summer honey flow

Strong summer buildup creates a lot of activity inside the colony this time of year.
