South Atlantic Fire Rescue (SAFRE) 2026 is in the books. Spoke with many old friends and made some new friends. Lots of people stopped by our booth and our “Swag” seemed to be a hit and there were even a couple of attendees that wanted to proudly display our logo on their face. There were several big winners at our raffle which raised nearly $600.00 for the Firefighters Cancer Support Network (FCSN).

This past weekend we, (1-800boardup of Raleigh and Belfor Property Restoration), had the opportunity to sponsor lunches for the Durham Dirty Works trade school. Students came from 8 different states and a multitude of departments. These firefighters spend countless hours training and preparing themselves to serve each of us. Our mascot even made a guest appearance at the training.

October 28th is National First Responders Day, please remember to thank your local first responders for what they do.

I had the privilege to introduce the keynote speaker, Bruce Bjorge, and share a brief description of the mission of 1-800-BOARDUP at the NCAFC Mid-Winter conference this week. It is always great spending time with old friends from the fire service and meeting new friends. Providing victim assistance and support for our emergency service personnel.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
We had the opportunity to visit one of our local Fire Departments yesterday to drop off some toys. Caldwell Fire Department opened their doors to the community for families to come and have their picture made with Santa, drop off toys for Western NC families and show what local heroes do. Support your local heroes because you never know when you might need them.
