This morning I rolled up on a Craig Myrtle and found a swarm that was…
well…
let’s just say Mother Nature was feeling real confident about her design choices.

Picture a big, buzzing, enthusiastically ph***ic cluster of bees hanging off that branch like it was trying to make eye contact with the whole neighborhood.

I just stood there like:
“Sir… this is a family tree.”

The bees were calm, cooperative, and apparently very proud of themselves.
I boxed them up, gave the tree its dignity back, and carried on with my day.

Sorry for going quiet on here! I’ve been running from job to job and completely failing at getting pictures this year. The bees and other projects have kept me busy, but I’ll start grabbing more photos so y’all can see what I’ve been up to. Appreciate everyone who follows along.Here’s a few I have managed to take.

In 1943, the US government begged Americans to grow food at home. They called them Victory Gardens. 20 million households answered. Together, they produced 40% of the nation's vegetables.

The government printed posters. Schools taught gardening. Neighborhoods competed for the best yields.

Today, in at least 17 US states, municipalities have made it illegal or heavily restricted to grow food in your front yard. People have been fined. Gardens have been bulldozed by code enforcement.

In 1943, growing your own food was patriotic.

In 2026, growing your own food is a code violation.

Nothing changed about the plants. Everything changed about who profits from what you eat.
