We're wrapping up another alley improvement project here in Durango! Our crew has been hard at work improving drainage, constructing a new sidewalk and retaining wall, and repaving the alley to provide a smoother, more reliable surface.

✅ Improved drainage to help prevent water buildup
✅ New concrete sidewalk
✅ New retaining wall for added stability
✅ Fresh asphalt for a smooth, clean finish

We’re enjoying the nice fall weather and getting another project underway here in Durango! Planet Excavation recently kicked off work at St. Columba, working alongside FCI as they renovate and expand the property.

✅ Parking lot demolition
✅ New sewer line installation
✅ Site preparation
✅ New addition groundwork

With the existing parking lot removed and the new sewer line installed, our crew is now getting started on the excavation and prep for the new addition.

A great crew needs a strong leader. At Planet Excavation, we’ve built a team we’re proud of, and we’re looking for an experienced Crew Lead who can take charge of a job site, coordinate the work, and bring out the best in the people around them.

Progress continues on the Animas River Trail project. Our crew has recently been focused on excavation and site preparation where the new bridge abutments will be constructed, all while fighting Mother Nature and the wet weather we’ve been dealing with.

✅ Grading and groundwork
✅ Working through challenging weather conditions

Rain and changing site conditions can make this kind of work difficult, but our crew continues pushing forward and preparing the project for the next phase of construction.

Another piece of critical infrastructure going in. Our crew recently installed a new fire hydrant as part of one of our City projects, helping support a dependable water system and fire protection infrastructure.

Rotary Park Alley is moving right along. With the excavation, grading, and prep work coming together, the alley is now ready for the next phase: asphalt paving.

✅ Subgrade and roadway prep completed
✅ New concrete poured
✅ Drainage and grades brought together
✅ Ready for asphalt paving

Projects like this are all about building from the ground up. Proper prep underneath the pavement and concrete helps create a cleaner, more durable finished project for the community.
