You do not have to redesign your home to use panelized framing.

Send us your plans, and we can help determine what parts of the framing can be built ahead of time in our shop.

For many projects, we can panelize the majority of the wall framing and deliver it organized, labeled, and ready to set. For more complex areas, we can take a hybrid approach and frame those sections on site.

That gives homeowners, builders, and developers a more flexible way to use panelized framing without forcing the project into a one-size-fits-all design.

While we are finishing up on site at one job, the next one is already underway in the shop.

This wall package is headed to Ridgway for an August install, and the team has started laying out and building panels to the builder’s specs.

One of the advantages of open-panelized framing is flexibility. We have our standard processes, but we also work with builders to meet their project requirements, material preferences, and construction standards. For this package, the builder requested CDX plywood sheathing, so that is what we are building with.

The goal stays the same: organized production in the shop, a cleaner install on site, and a more predictable path once the foundation is ready.

Some weeks are about big visible progress. Other weeks are about working through the details.

This week has been a lot of porches, decks, housewrap, drywall backing, and the miscellaneous framing items that make a home ready for the next steps.

As a founder, I have a lot of respect for this part of the process. It is not always the part people notice first, but it is the kind of work that matters later. When the details are handled well, the next trades have a better starting point and the project keeps moving with fewer surprises.

I will be honest — some days the housing challenge feels bigger than anything our small company can solve.

Costs are high. Labor is hard to find. Timelines are unpredictable. A lot of families are left wondering if building or owning a home is even possible.

But I still believe small improvements matter.

At Higher Purpose Homes, our part is framing. We are working to build wall systems in a more planned, efficient, and repeatable way so projects can move from foundation to dry-in with fewer surprises.

It's not a silver bullet. It's just one practical step toward a better way to build.

On Flag Day, I am thankful for the opportunity to do meaningful work, build with good people, and the opportunity to serve our community one project at a time.

Innovation does not always look flashy.

Sometimes it looks like a router stick (inspo awesomeframers & ) built in the shop so the team can cut out window and door openings without climbing up and down a ladder all day.

This idea came from the guys doing the work. They saw a repetitive step, found a better way, and built a tool to make the process safer, easier, and more efficient.

That matters to us.

At Higher Purpose Homes, innovation is not just about technology or big ideas. It is about giving the team permission to improve the work in front of them every day.

More lumber does not always mean a better wall.

SMART Framing, also known as Advanced Framing or OVE framing, uses lumber more intentionally. The goal is to reduce unnecessary material, create less waste, and leave more room in the wall for insulation.

Paired with open-panelized framing, this gives us a more planned, consistent, and efficient wall system before it ever reaches the jobsite.

Better planning makes better walls.

A lot of the value in panelized framing happens before anyone sees walls standing on site.

This is Matt using our pack press in the shop. It helps us build multi-ply headers, jacks, kings, and other framing packs straight, flush, and consistent with one person. The jig also marks where the fasteners go, so we are not guessing or doing it differently every time.

This is the kind of step that is easy to overlook, but it makes a real difference.

When these components are built right ahead of time, the wall panels come together cleaner, the jobsite install goes smoother, and there is less room for rework later.

Not flashy. Just a better process.

Speed to dry-in matters.

On this garage, we framed the roof on the slab first so the crew could work safer and more efficiently. Then, in one crane day, we lifted the roof sections off, set the walls, and craned the roof back on.

The next day, we stitched the sheathing together and wrapped up the framing package.

From start to finish, about one week with a crew of 3 guys.

Good planning helps reduce weather exposure, improve jobsite flow, and keep a project moving.
