Welcome to Washington Art Glass Studio.
For more than a century, Washington Art Glass Studio has helped preserve the beauty, craftsmanship and history found in stained and leaded glass.
Established in 1924, our studio specializes in the restoration, preservation and creation of stained glass for churches, historic properties, institutions and homes throughout Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic.
Our work ranges from carefully restoring century-old windows and repairing individual pieces of historic glass to designing and fabricating new stained glass, restoring frames and sash, and installing protective glazing systems designed to help preserve these works for generations to come.
Behind every project is a respect for the original artists and craftspeople who created these windows. Whenever possible, we preserve original glass and historic materials while using time-honored techniques and thoughtful restoration practices to return each window to structural stability and beauty.
As Washington Art Glass Studio enters its second century, we're looking forward to sharing more of what happens both inside the studio and out in the field — completed restorations, works in progress, before-and-after transformations, historic projects from our archives, and a closer look at the craftsmanship behind stained glass preservation.
Thank you for following along and for supporting a craft we've been proud to continue since 1924.
