🥶 ***Tips to stay cool this weekend***🥶

It’s getting warmer outside and it doesn’t help that the humidity feels like we are living in the swampy lands of Florida 🥵🥵🐊. I came up with a few tips that I hope can be of help to you.

1. Change your filter and make sure you get the right size! Your old filter should have the size on the sides. You can buy filters at Lockes, Ace or Walmart.

2. Wash your outside unit with a water hose.. (make sure unit is off)!! Remove any leaves, vines or grass around your unit. They should be away from your unit.

3. Leave your Thermostat alone! 😁 Keep it at 70-75 degrees or keep it at a temp where your house is comfortable at. This will help out with your electric bill and also to make sure your unit is not overworking it self. Especially if you have a older unit.

4. Keep your house dark! I have darkening curtains to help keep the sun coming in and also the heat. I do this because my house is older. My curtains are not fancy, I bought mine from Ross 🙂.

5. Turn your ceiling fans on and keep them going. Having that extra air movement can help pull the hot air down and pull the cold air 🆙.

There you go! I hope this can help a few people. I’ll keep posting tip! 😁

We have been receiving alot of calls ☎️ regarding frost/ice over outside units. Here is some information that might be helpful 😃 It’s normal for a heat pump to be covered in a bit of frost during the winter... Because a heat pump will naturally ice up in the winter but will periodically go into defrost mode or cycle to de-ice the coils. This keeps the unit running efficiently. If the coils ares blocked by the ice, proper heat transfer between the refrigerant and the outside air cannot occur. Here are some pictures they might be helpful.

Please don’t hesitate to call if you’re still not sure. Send us a picture!!! Your more than welcome to text us @ 5802550183 or email us [email protected]

☀️**Tips to help keep cool in your home** ☀️

It’s going to get pretty hot this weekend! Here are a few tips that can help your condenser.

WINDOWS: Make sure your blinds are closed!! Using things like window coverings to their full advantage in the middle of the day can keep your house cooler by keeping that sunlight from coming in, particularly if you are gone during day. Also look for thermal curtains that are made specifically to keep light/heat coming inside your home. I try to keep my house pretty dark.

THERMOSTAT: Heat is going to flow from a hotter environment to a cooler one. So in this case the heat will want to come from outside into your cool house. If you set your thermostat higher so it's warmer in day there's going to be less air flow. If it's 85 out and you set it to 65, the air conditioner has to work harder. I set our thermostat on 75-77 during the day depends on how hot it will be. When you get home and start to turn down the temperature itmay have to work a little harder and run longer BUT at the same time its not running all day. **this also goes for window units/Mini-Splits***

CEILING FANS: IF you have ceiling fans make sure you're using them and the right way, making sure the direction is set correctly. As you're standing under it looking up, it should be running counterclockwise it pulls cooler air from ground and blows it back on you. Just the air from the fan on your skin can make a room feel ten degrees cooler.

FILTER/SUMMER MAINTENANCE: Change your filter regularly! It’s wise to change your filter regularly. Your filter should not look like a gray cat. I have 2 dogs that stay inside and I change mine monthly. Changing your filter is part of your maintenance on your system. Make sure your condenser is free from shrubs and grass. Its okay to wash your unit also. Use a water hose to get rid of dust/dirt/grass.

Friendly reminder to check your air filter! A dirty filter restricts airflow and can makes your equipment work harder and consume more energy. Help reduce your energy bill by replacing your filter.
