We came across this during a recent service call.
At first glance, everything looked normal:
✔️ Proper breaker
✔️ Proper wire size
✔️ Equipment installed correctly
But look closer.
That damage at the top wiring didn’t come from “too much power.”
It came from something far more subtle:
👉 A poor mechanical connection.
🔍 What happened?
Electricity doesn’t just need a path—it needs a clean, tight, solid connection.
When that connection isn’t perfect:
Resistance builds
Heat forms
Heat increases resistance
And the cycle continues… until failure
That’s how you end up with burned insulation and damaged equipment—even when everything else is sized correctly.
🧰 Why this matters for your home or business.
Most electrical issues don’t start with big, obvious mistakes.
They start small:
A wire not fully seated
A lug not torqued to spec
A connection that “looked fine”
And over time, those small details turn into expensive problems.
⚠️ The takeaway
Electrical work isn’t just about getting power from point A to point B.
It’s about the quality of every connection along the way.
That’s where experience—and attention to detail—make all the difference.
