I got something a little different from my usual cartoonish oil paintings today! A realistic cat portrait done with pencil!

As y’all may have noticed, I work primarily with oil paints. I’ve recently decided to branch out to expand my work after a friend of a mutual friend commissioned this from me. What do you all think?

Still a work in progress!

While trying to finish before Shrimp Fest, I improvised by trimming a few of my fan brushes to create the grass texture. Up close it has a more uniform feel, but from a distance it looks exactly like I want it to.

Goal is to have it finished before the Dunwoody this weekend. More information at www.splashfestivals.com

The Banjo Player — 16”x20” Oil on canvas

The second painting in the series! A frog lounging on a mushroom playing his banjo. While painting it, it reminded me a lot of all the times my brother and I went on Splash Mountain.
