In recognition of Indigenous Peoples' Day, we are proud to share that we were honored with the SEED Network Indigenous – Social Environmental and Economic Design (I-SEED) Award for the MLCV Ventura Urban Housing Project this past weekend. This award reflects our commitment to honoring Indigenous heritage, environmental stewardship, and economic resilience through thoughtful architecture and design.

Located on Franklin Avenue’s American Indian Cultural Corridor, the MLCV Ventura Urban Housing Project is one of several tribally owned apartment buildings that serves tribal members and their families. This project—from start to finish—is an exemplary model that works to assert Indigenous sovereignty within the urban framework. From the building’s initial conception to the planning and design and through construction, the project was entirely Native-led. When these projects are in the care of Native people, there is greater room to assert Indigenous values and knowledge from the very start. This facility, among several others along the corridor, mark the first step toward collective Indigenous sovereignty, where the stewardship of the land returns to Indigenous people. The MLCV Ventura Project helps pave the way for Indigenous people to live in a socially, economically and environmentally healthy community that is soon to be fully grounded in cultural heritage as the Franklin corridor continues to grow with more Indigenous presence.

Official stamp acquired - We are thrilled to announce that Adam Reynolds has officially passed his ARE exams and is now a Licensed Architect in the State of Minnesota!

Adam’s journey with DSGW began part-time while attending North Dakota State University, and he transitioned to full-time after earning his Master of Architecture. His passion and dedication shine through in every client interaction and across a diverse portfolio—spanning resorts, tribal healthcare facilities, and educational projects. Outside of his work across our market sectors, Adam serves his community and country as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air National Guard at the 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth, working in Civil Engineering. Congratulations, Adam!

DSGW has had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the dedication and passion that Dream of Wild Health brings to their work. On Friday - we celebrated the ground blessing of their new facility that will serve as critical infrastructure as a community teaching kitchen where Native American-grown produce can be canned and preserved with an office space to support the programs and distribution. Congratulations on this important milestone providing a vital resource to the community, consumers, and also supporting Native farmers establishing themselves in the agricultural industry.

We are thrilled to announce that Katherine Gerzina has earned the Accredited Learning Environments Planner (ALEP) credential, a nationally recognized mark of excellence for professionals engaged in educational facility planning and the design of learning environments.

The ALEP credential was developed by the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) to elevate professional standards, recognize demonstrated expertise, and identify individuals who possess the knowledge and skills essential to planning and shaping high-quality places where students learn.

“An individual who has been certified through ALEP has achieved one of the highest professional qualifications in our field. Clients can engage ALEPs with confidence, knowing they have been examined for competence by our association.”

ALEPs maintain their credential through ongoing professional development and recertification every three years, including the completion of continuing education requirements that reflect the evolving nature of learning environment planning.

The Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) is the only professional organization whose principal purpose is improving the places where children learn. A4LE unites a diverse community of professionals around one goal: creating healthy, safe, high-performing, and sustainable learning environments that enhance student success and strengthen communities.
