Compared to Similar Products, Deck-Top's Surface Stays Anywhere Between 30Âș – 50Âș Cooler

One of the worst parts of deck ownership is walking barefoot on a hot deck surface. Deck-Top provides a unique surface that is always cool on your feet, even in direct sunlight. In fact, our studies have shown that Deck-Top’s surface consistently stays anywhere between 30Âș–50Âș cooler in direct sunlight when compared to wood and composite materials alone.
Deck-Top is made with special agents called “heat stabilizers” that join together with PVC compounds to prevent the heat-caused degradation of plastics. Heat stabilizers work by stopping thermal oxidation or by attacking the decomposed products of oxidation. With the addition of UVA and UVB inhibitors along with these heat-stabilizing compounds, Deck-Top stays cool and rarely reaches over 96Âș even on the hottest days. Besides staying cool, these additives prevent any material breakdown that would normally be caused by nature’s elements.

This is a prime example of a situation where Deck-Top can be put to its best usage! These boards had a lot of life left in them but looked awful. This sample also highlights our edging pieces which will match the color of decking that you choose!
