Advanced Directional Drilling is an underground utility contractor located in Dubuque, Iowa.

We offer horizontal directional drilling, vacuum excavation, and private utility locating. Horizontal Directional Drilling
Directional drilling is most often the preferred method to get (cable, pipe, conduit) from Point A to Point B when there are multiple obstacles and conditions to consider. Once the clean up crews are completed it looks like they were never there. Directional drilling is a proc

ess where the horizontal drilling machine tunnels under obstructions such as existing utilities, buildings, roadways, rivers and then pulls pipe back through the underground tunnels leaving the surface untouched. Private Utilities Locates
Advanced Directional Drilling private utility locating service is meant to be used in conjunction with State 811 One Call services. State 811 One Call service locates utilities up to the private connection point (typically the meter). This leaves many private utility lines unmarked and creates a potential dangerous situation leading to injury or death. We use our Subsite Utiligard Utility locator to mark private utilities. Vacuum Excavation
Vacuum Excavation pairs a pressure washer with an industrial sized vacuum. Applications include exposing buried utility lines without the risk of damage, cleaning out storm drains, directional drilling site cleanup, water leak repair, valve box clean out, utility vault clean out, commercial and residential debris cleanup and landscaping, and post hole digging.

Job Summary:
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for supporting field and office operations by securing necessary permits, communication progress with customers, creating accurate as-built drawings, and overseeing billing activities. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, technically skilled, and capable of handling multiple tasks across a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and track the progress of multiple HDD projects simultaneously.
• Communicate with field crews, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.
• Prepare and maintain as-built drawings based on field redlines.
• Review field data and production reports to compile accurate project documentation.
• Assist in generating and submitting billing documentation, including progress billings, time and material tracking, and change orders.

• Address client inquiries regarding billing and project status in a timely and professional manner.

Advanced Directional Drilling is seeking individuals interested in starting a career within the underground utility construction industry. Individuals will be exposed to all facets of the industry: drill operation, excavator operation, utility design, and much more.

About Advanced Directional Drilling

Advanced Directional Drilling is a fast-growing underground utility contractor headquartered in Dubuque, IA. We offer directional drilling, hydro excavation, and utility locating services throughout the Midwest. Responsibilities

• Aid in the preparation of the job site to conduct horizontal directional drilling
• Operate excavator, hydro excavator, concrete saw, core drill, etc.
• Expose utilities to verify their depth and location
• Rig pipe to drill for pull back
• Set hand holes, pedestals, and other enclosures
• Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment
• Ability to read, understand, and implement utility construction prints
• Setup and cleanup of work site including traffic and pedestrian control
• Reads utility locates and coordinating day lighting of these facilities
• Aid in the restoration of any landscapes disturbed during construction
• Ensure that the workmanship conforms to specifications and local codes
• Operates vehicles for transport to job site.
• Performs proper maintenance by greasing, oiling, and making minor repairs on equipment.
• Perform other duties as required/assigned

Desired but not required qualifications

• CDL class “A” driver’s license
• Valid DOT Health Card
• Strong verbal communication skills with crew, customers, and vendors.
• Experience operating excavator and hydro excavator
• Experience using a utility locator
• Knowledge of general utility construction design and standards
