Michael’s back- and this time, he has another Knowlton degree in hand!

After earning his Bachelor of Science in Architecture and recently completing his Master of Architecture at The Ohio State University, Michael Wade has returned to Wellogy as an Architectural Designer.

His academic research explored the ways environments can support and encourage human activity, a natural fit with our focus on designing for life. He also brings the commitment of a LEED Green Associate, the resourcefulness of an Eagle Scout, and, if we’re lucky, a little ragtime piano to the office soundtrack! Outside of work, Michael enjoys a good game of backgammon with his wife.

Welcome back, Michael. We’re so happy you’re here!

Wellogy Day at the Fair 🎡

Last week, the Wellogy team celebrated opening day at the Ohio State Fair and the hard work behind many projects completed across the fairgrounds in the past year.

From the new Ohio Showcase Building, Ohio Children’s Carousel, Ohio Agriculture Center, and Cardinal Gate to renovations at The Dairy Building, North Commercial and the Bricker Building and more, each project contributes to a more welcoming, accessible, and memorable fair experience.

Wellogy Day at the Fair gave our team a chance to step away from our desks, experience these spaces alongside fairgoers, and celebrate the many people and partners who brought them to life.

Great design creates places where people can gather, discover, and make memories. Seeing families enjoy these spaces was the best celebration of all. Congratulations, team! 🎠🌽🐄

Check out the 29:43 mark for the shout out from Governor Mike DeWine!

Opening Day at the Ohio State Fair called for a celebration! 🎡

We closed our offices and headed to the fair to experience the long-awaited debut of the many projects our team and partners have spent years bringing to life. Seeing these spaces filled with people, energy and new memories was an incredible reminder of why we do what we do.

We are so proud of the vision, collaboration and hard work behind this milestone. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this transformation possible!

We have a new baby to introduce!

Wellogy’s new Matterport technology helps our teams capture existing conditions with greater clarity, accuracy, and efficiency. With a detailed digital scan, we can walk the site anytime, take measurements, confirm details, and share information across teams without always needing another trip back to the building.

It supports internal and external collaboration, creates more flexible asynchronous workflows, minimizes unnecessary site visits, and gives our designers a stronger foundation for BIM coordination in Revit.

We’re excited to put this new addition to work for our clients, partners, and project teams.

The result? Better information, better coordination, and more time focused on thoughtful design solutions for the people and places we serve. Curious how Matterport could support your next project? Give us a call!

Meet Samantha Darling! Sam is a fourth-year Interior Architecture student at Ohio University with a passion for designing human-centered spaces that make everyday experiences better. She brings curiosity, creativity, technical problem-solving, and a strong collaborative spirit to her work.

Beyond the studio, Sam serves as a Teaching Assistant for Ohio University’s online program and as Design Coordinator for the University’s Design Group Organization, where she helps build connection and engagement within the student design community. She also holds an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Administration from North Central State College, giving her a thoughtful balance of creative and organizational perspective.

We’re excited to have Sam growing with our team and contributing to work that supports people, place, and purpose.

Meet Gabriel, one of Wellogy’s talented interns.

Gabriel earned his Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Kent State University and is currently completing his Master of Architecture at The Ohio State University.

His passion for architecture is grounded in the belief that design can amplify a person’s experience. With a background in urban studies and architecture, Gabriel is especially interested in adaptive spaces that support wellbeing and respond to real human needs.

We’re glad to have Gabriel with our team this summer as he continues learning, growing, and contributing to design work with purpose.

Welcome back, Nolan Payne!

Nolan joins us from Clemson University, where he is a graduate student in the Architecture + Community Build certificate program. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Ohio State University.

With a strong interest in the connection between architecture, community, and wellbeing, Nolan is passionate about creating spaces that support both physical and emotional experience. His curiosity about the relationship between the built environment and human behavior brings a thoughtful lens to the work he is doing with our team this summer.

We’re excited to have Nolan growing with Wellogy and contributing to design that supports people, place, and positive impact.

Some places tell the story of a town better than any landmark ever could.

In Canal Wi******er, the new Columbus Metropolitan Library feels like one of those places. Not just because of the books, the light, or the beautifully designed spaces, but because of the people who fill it. Grandparents and young children. Teens finding a place to belong. Families in motion. Neighbors in conversation. Quiet readers at rest.

Our latest blog explores how this library has already become more than a destination. It has become part of the daily life of the community in Canal Wi******er as a true third place: a setting where different generations, needs, and rhythms of life can coexist with ease. Through a series of observed moments, the story explores how design supports belonging, from story time and family connection to teen refuge, quiet study, and staff hospitality.

For growing communities, spaces like this matter. They help people feel connected to where they live and to one another. Read the blog here: https://www.wellogydesign.com/the-stories-inside-the-library/

Wellogy was the Local Architect, and Design Partnership was the Lead Architect. Also on the team- Advanced Engineering Consultants, Moody Engineering, Kabil Associates, and EDGE. Photography by Brad Feinknopf.

More than a place for books, Canal Wi******er’s new library offers a welcoming space for learning, connection, and everyday community life.
