Construction Appreciation Week runs October 5–11. This week we're marking it the only way we know how, by celebrating our crews and their work.

Throughout 2026, Hi-Way Paving crews have been hard at work on airfields and highways across the Southeast and Midwest, navigating challenging conditions and demanding schedules. Through it all, our crews continued to get the job done.

This year new crews were assembled, and new skills were brought in-house. When site conditions forced a design change mid-project, the team worked to resolve it and still completed the work on time. This is a result of building the right team and trusting them to get the job done right and on schedule.

Beyond the work itself, 2026 has been a year of growth. Team members expanded their certifications, picked up new equipment, crossed into new disciplines, and went back to schools they graduated from to recruit the next generation into the trade. More than 130 people hit their first major milestone with the company this year. That number matters to us.

To every Hi-Way crew member out there doing the work this week and every week, this one's for you.

Last week, our Charlotte and Nashville teams took the time at each location for our own Fall Construction Safety Week. We started with a safety talk, then our Safety Technicians led an interactive demonstration where crews worked to spot hazards and explain how to correct them.

Thanks to everyone who took part. We always value the chance to step away from the work and learn from each other.

We're hiring experienced Concrete Finishers to join our crews across the Southeast and Midwest.
You'll be on the ground doing the work that matters most, spreading, levelling, and finishing the concrete that becomes the runways and highways we're known for.
This role travels 100% to project sites, including Charlotte, NC; Nashville, TN and future locations as projects develop.

What we're looking for:
✅ 3+ years of large-scale concrete finishing experience (roads, highways, airfields)
✅ Heavy or highway construction background (preferred)
✅ ACI Flatwork Finisher certification (preferred)
✅ Ability to obtain clearance for restricted zones, including airport airside and military installations
✅ Willingness to travel full-time to project locations

Per diem provided when travelling. Significant overtime opportunities.
