Same peninsula.

So we didn’t “update” it…
We rebuilt it.

Here’s what changed 👇
• 48” range with a pot filler
• Whitewashed maple cabinets to the ceiling (no basic all-white here)
• Custom staircase with matching railings + wrought iron balusters
• Hand-built fireplace mantel crafted in the contractor’s own shop
• New laminate floors throughout
• Solid core doors across the entire main floor

The entire space finally feels like it matches the home.
30 years in the making…

$60,000 later…
Completely transformed.

This full main floor remodel completely transformed an outdated space into a high-end, functional dream.
What started with...
Old cabinets. Tight layout. Crooked fireplace.
None of it worked.

So we rebuilt the entire main floor…

Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry.
Custom hood + 36” range.
Sub-Zero fridge + built-in wine cooler.
Clean backsplash. Statement pendants. Under-cab lighting everywhere.

Then we went bigger…

Pushed into the garage to add a full butler’s pantry
→ double ovens
→ microwave
→ serious prep space

And this fireplace…
Re-centered. Floor-to-ceiling limestone. Custom walnut mantle. Total focal point.

Finished it off by refinishing every hardwood floor in the home.

This isn’t a remodel… it’s a full transformation.

This full main floor remodel completely transformed an outdated space into a high-end, functional dream.
What started with old cabinets, a tight layout, and a crooked fireplace… just wasn’t working.

So we rebuilt the entire main floor from the ground up.
We went all in with a custom kitchen:
• Floor-to-ceiling cabinetry
• Decorative hood with a 36” range
• Sub-Zero fridge + built-in wine cooler
• Clean backsplash, statement pendants, and under-cabinet lighting throughout

Then we took it even further…
We expanded into the garage to create a full butler’s pantry with:
• Double ovens
• Microwave
• Serious prep space and storage

And the fireplace…
Completely re-centered and redesigned floor-to-ceiling with limestone and a custom walnut mantle. It became the focal point of the entire space.

To finish it off, every hardwood floor in the home was refinished, tying everything together into one clean, high-end design.

This isn’t just a remodel… it’s a full transformation.

I stopped using toilet paper… and I’m not going back 🚽😳

Yeah… we did it.
For Christmas, my wife and I both got bidet toilet seats 😂

But after installing this one??
I get it now.

Heated seat.
Warm water.
Air dry.
Auto open lid.

And we didn’t pay those crazy $1,000+ prices.

We went DEEP researching and landed on the ANZZI Envo bidet toilet seat — loaded with features and honestly a game changer.

I didn’t think I needed a bidet… until I installed one 😳🚽

This is one of our favorite kitchen remodels… and this one has a story behind it.

Welcome to The Writer’s House ✨
What started as a dated, closed-off kitchen is now a bright, clean, fully custom space designed to actually work for everyday life.

We opened up the layout, added a new island, built custom cabinetry (with a pretty genius flue workaround), upgraded the lighting, and packed in smart features like a drawer microwave, single bowl sink, and integrated blinds.

Every inch of this kitchen was redesigned to be more functional, more efficient, and honestly… just way better to live in.
