Air conditioning tips for this upcoming week. Air-conditioning systems in this area were designed for 90° - 95°  days, so the next several days of over 100° temperatures are very abnormal and your system will not keep up with these kinds of temperatures. There's nothing wrong with your unit. Your second floor may be at least five to maybe even 10° warmer than your first floor. If you have a first and second floor system, this won’t affect you, Make sure your air filter is clean. Do not close off registers in rooms that you don’t use, It will not make the other rooms cooler. Make sure that your outdoor unit has breathing room around it around 10 inches every way. No vegetation should surround the unit. Try to keep doors closed as much as possible, and, this may sound silly, but even turn off lights you don't need. Use ceiling fans if you have them, they will make you feel much cooler.  Please stay safe and have a Happy Fourth of July

Everyone has seen energy prices rising dramatically. There are a lot of things that you can do to make sure your air conditioner is running at its top efficiency.
1. Make sure your filter is clean, most people don’t understand how important this is. 
2. Make sure your outdoor unit isn’t overgrown with vegetation your unit needs to breathe. 
3. If you can see that it’s very dirty, hose the coils down to get the dirt off. Don’t worry you can do this even when it’s running. 
4. If you haven’t had it serviced in a very long time, you may want to have us come out and check the refrigerant level to make sure it’s running at its top efficiency. If you’re refrigerant level is low your unit will run for a very long time trying to get your system down to temperature. Also, if it’s very low, your indoor coil will start to freeze up. 
5. If your unit is over 10 to 15 years old, you may want to call us for a free estimate for a new system.

Is very important to get a very high quality carbon monoxide tester if you have gas or oil heat , and make sure the smoke pipe come off your heater is in very good shape

Beware if you have your gas furnace checked, and the serviceman tells you that the heat exchanger is cracked please get another opinion it is a very unscrupulous action of unscrupulous companies

Things are warming up, snow is going to start melting check your sump pump. If it constantly runs and no water is being pumped out the line going outside is frozen, solid, or buried under all the snow.
