Georgia weather has these warm season grasses acting like they hit the snooze button 14 times this spring. One warm day and it’s ready to thrive… then 42° shows up and suddenly it needs emotional support. 😅

We are seeing some much needed rain in the forecast for next week 🙌. This will definitely be helpful for lawns that have not been watered, but don't expect lawns to perk up immediately. They will still need water when we don't have rain. Our treatments do a lot but one thing they can't do is water the grass.

Hey friends! Let's talk about water. We haven't seen a lot of it so far this year which means we need to put those sprinklers to work. Watering in the early morning hours is ideal. This helps reduce the risk for fungus/disease to set in. If you water during the middle of the day, you could run the risk of burning your grass. Below is a helpful chart broken down for your turf type though most of them require about the same amount of water. If you have new sod/seed follow the recommendation given at the time of install, those will need a different amount of water. Remember, this is a collective amount so if we do start getting a lot of rain, let the rain help you out with that water bill!

Pro tip: Consistent mowing this time of year and throughout the growing season, helps your lawn thicken up and helps prevent w**ds from going to seed.
