As summer comes to a close, we'd like to give a special shout-out to our 2026 summer intern, Gaby Jacquez .jqz
Gaby is heading into her senior year at Dodge City High School and has already earned early admission to Kansas State University. Her future is incredibly bright, and we can't wait to see where her journey takes her.
Gaby joined us through Dodge City High School's Chris Buddy's Research & Design Program, bringing a passion for design, creativity, and problem-solving. Throughout the summer, she worked alongside our team researching and documenting historic downtown buildings, with a special focus on the Kennedy Brothers Building.
During her internship, Gaby learned how to document existing building conditions using laser scanning technology, develop existing floor plans, research historic records, and weave that information into a comprehensive historical narrative to help support the building's future redevelopment potential. It was a pleasure to watch her natural talent, curiosity, and enthusiasm shine throughout the project. She brought thoughtful questions, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude that made her a joy to have in the office every day.
If you attended Dodge City Days, you may have also spotted Gaby walking in the parade or helping families enjoy our Touch-A-Truck event. She jumped in wherever she was needed and represented Building Solutions with professionalism, kindness, and a smile that brightened every room she walked into.
We're certainly going to miss having her around the office, but we know this is only the beginning of an exciting future. We wish you the very best on your "last first day of high school", Gaby, and can't wait to see all you accomplish in the years ahead.
Congratulations, and thank you for spending your summer with all of us at Building Solutions!
