Willett, Hofmann & Associates recently completed the deck inspection of the Briggs Street Bridge over Hickory Creek and the Metra Railroad in Will County, Illinois. This impressive four-lane structure spans approximately 1,600 feet and required a coordinated effort from team members in WHA's Moline, Dixon, Rockford, and Joliet offices.
To minimize disruption to the traveling public, the inspection was performed during periods of lower traffic with partial lane closures in place, allowing our team to safely and efficiently evaluate the condition of the bridge.
The Briggs Street Bridge inspection is part of WHA's ongoing bridge rehabilitation program for Will County. Currently, WHA is providing rehabilitation services for 15 structures throughout the county, helping extend their service life and ensuring safe, reliable transportation infrastructure for years to come.

Willett, Hofmann & Associates was proud to be part of the Engineering Society of Illinois 2026 Summer Seminar and Annual Business Meeting on Thursday, July 16, in Rockford, Illinois.
WHA’s Chris Morgan presented alongside Aimee Gibson, Nick Reynolds, and Jack Majcher from Benesch on the I-39 corridor project, a collaborative effort that has been in progress for approximately six years. The presentation highlighted how the project has evolved over time, growing from three original contracts to twelve by breaking the work into smaller, more manageable segments.
During the meeting, ESI also swore in its 2026–2027 slate of officers, including WHA’s Dan Loos as President-Elect.
The weekend continued on Saturday, July 18, with the 67th ESI–Rock River Golf Outing. Twenty-two teams participated in this fun event, which raises money for scholarships for future engineers. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and participants, five engineering students were awarded scholarships this year.
We are proud to support ESI, the engineering profession, and the next generation of engineers!

What a beautiful day for golf! ⛳️🏌️‍♂️
With the continued support of our participants and sponsors, we had another succesful annual golf outing this year. Our outing raised over $10,000 that will continue to fund our scholarships for local students who are pursuing Engineering Degrees and support our local MathCounts participants. We would like to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who continues to make the success of this event possible!!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the dedication and ribbon cutting of the Petunia Crossing Pedestrian Bridge in Dixon on July 7!
Willett Hofmann & Associates was honored to celebrate this exciting new community connection alongside our project partners from Benesch, the City of Dixon Illinois Government and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).
The celebration began over the Independence Day weekend, with WHA team members Keegan, Erik, and Mike participating in the Reagan Run 5K which included a new course that crossed the bridge, followed by a spectacular fireworks display over the bridge the next evening. The festivities culminated with the official ribbon cutting, marking the completion of a project that will serve residents and visitors for years to come.
We are proud to have contributed to a project that strengthens connectivity, promotes recreation, and creates a lasting landmark for the Dixon community. Thank you to everyone who helped make this vision a reality.
