Dear Valued Customer,
I'd like to first thank you for your business. I became the owner/operator of Clean Cut Lawn Service in the Spring of 2014 after my dad's dementia made it so he could not continue. I started out with only a few customers and spent many hours with my wife and newborn son going door to door with flyers looking for more. Many of you have been with me since the very first year or shortly after.
After ten years of running Clean Cut, this week will be my last. As my two boys get older, I have found that the time commitment needed to run the business properly greatly cuts into valuable family time with them and my wife, which I am no longer willing to sacrifice.
The relationships I've built through Clean Cut are and have always been very important to me. For that reason, I did not just want to stop and leave you to find another lawn care business on your own and have prices potentially increase or quality decrease. I began spreading the word that I was selling the business. When I did so, I was also making sure that whoever would take it over would be a good fit for my customers. I have found that person in Matt Burger.
Matt is also a firefighter/paramedic that works with me at East Lansing Fire. I have known Matt for over 15 years and he is a great guy with an attention to detail that I know will translate well to lawn care. He mowed with me this week to get the hang of things and learn the route and will be taking over next week. You will likely still see me, as I will be helping out from time to time and will also stay on for a while to help him get acclimated. I have passed on all pertinent information about your lawn, pricing, and contact information.
This change is certainly bittersweet for me. I'm excited to have more time with my family, but I know I will miss caring for your lawns and even more so the relationships I've been able to build because of it.
When I started out I always wanted to make sure I thanked each customer for their business. Admittedly, as of late I have unintentionally thanked you all less and less. I want to thank you now. Clean Cut was a great success. I wanted to carry on my Dad's legacy through Clean Cut as he started the company from the ground up. I think I did that successfully and I could not have done that without great customers like you. Now, more importantly I'll be able to carry on a more important legacy of being a great family man like him.
Thank you for your business.
