Last week, we welcomed students from Southwest Area CTE Academy’s Diesel and Heavy Equipment program to our Highway 85 job site, where we served up our signature Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches! Students also had the opportunity to visit with our crew and learn more about the different career paths available at Baranko Companies and throughout the construction industry.

It was also a great opportunity to bring our crew, partners, and subcontractors together to celebrate another successful construction season as we start wrapping up 2026! (Don't worry, we still have a little bit more to go! 😉)

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for lunch. We always enjoy connecting with the next generation of our industry!

We had a great day Monday supporting our partners at BNI Coal - BNI Energy during their annual training! Our team fired up the Food Truck and served up 200 Philly cheesesteaks, with every last one spoken for. 🙌

It was also a great (and perhaps slightly belated) way to celebrate one of our bigger jobs with BNI Coal this year, as our crews continue work on their haul road construction project.

We’re always grateful for partnerships like these and for the opportunity to support the people we work alongside, whether that’s out on the job site or behind the grill.

Thanks to BNI for having us, and thank you to Jolene Sauvageau Baranko for volunteering her time to help us out with the food truck!

Yesterday, our food truck made its 20th stop of the 2026 season at Oliver County’s first-ever Touch-A-Truck event! We handed out nearly 250 hot dogs throughout the day and were excited to be there alongside many of our business partners who helped make this event possible.

Giving back to the communities where we live and work has always been important to us, and we’re grateful to work with businesses that share that same commitment. It’s even better when we can come together for events like this and give local kids and families exposure to equipment that is pertinent to our industry.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by, and congratulations to Oliver County on a great first Touch-A-Truck!

We had a great time at the North Dakota Construction Leadership Committee Demo Day in Dickinson today! This event gave students a firsthand look at the construction industry and a chance to explore the many careers, equipment, and technology that are part of the work.

Even with a few rain showers throughout the day, there was plenty happening across the Southwest Area CTE Academy. One of our operators gave students hands-on experience running equipment, while our shop team brought out a service truck for a closer look at the tools used in repair and maintenance work. We also brought along our survey drone to show students how technology plays a role in today’s construction industry.

And, of course, our Baranko food truck was there to keep everyone fueled! We served 150 Philly cheesesteaks to students, participants, volunteers, and organizers — including members of our own team — who helped bring the day together.

Yesterday marked the 18th stop of our Food Truck Tour this season!

We headed over to our partners at Otter Tail Power Company’s Coyote Station and served nearly 70 Philly Cheesesteaks. It was a quick lunch service, but one we’re extremely proud of. We’ve been working with Otter Tail for decades, helping with their fly ash hauling, so it was great to bring lunch to the Coyote Station crew and spend some time with them.

We appreciate the continued partnership and the chance to give back in a small way. Thanks to everyone at Coyote for having us!

Yesterday, our President, Glenn Baranko, and his wife had the privilege of attending a special event at the Southwest Area CTE Academy with U.S. Department of Education Secretary Linda McMahon, who was visiting North Dakota as part of her "Returning Education to the States" Tour. She was also joined by Lt. Governor Michelle Strinden and Assistant Secretary Kirsten Baesler, who served as North Dakota’s Superintendent of Public Instruction for more than a decade.

At the event, Glenn was honored to participate in a roundtable discussion with students, educators, industry partners, elected officials, and community leaders. The roundtable provided an opportunity to showcase to our nation’s leaders how the SWCTE is helping to address workforce needs across western North Dakota by connecting students with hands-on learning and career pathways available here in our region. The conversation also highlighted the impact of career and technical education and the incredible work being done at the SWCTE to equip students for success.

We’re extremely proud to have Glenn represent us and be part of such an important conversation about education and workforce development — especially right here in North Dakota! 🇺🇸👏

A lot of dirt moving and pipe work took place across our job sites over these past two weeks of August. 🚧 Here’s a quick look at what has been completed and what’s still to come at the job sites pictured below:

▪️Dunn County 12th Street is nearing completion, with final grading and dirt work remaining.

▪️On Hwy 85, Phase 1 work will be wrapping up soon, with Phase 2 set to begin shortly. Piping and dirt work will continue throughout the end of this construction season.

▪️On our Hwy 16 project, the pipes pictured were installed and paving was completed last week. This project is expected to be finished, at the latest, by early next week.

This weekend, we attended the Dickinson API Invitational Golf Tournament. This has been our yearly tradition for decades.

On both days, we served our signature biscuits and gravy in the morning and most people's favorite, Chicago dogs, in the afternoon.

Baranko also had 3 of our employees golfing in the first and second flight. We are so grateful to connect with many old and new faces, as well as represent our company to such an amazing community and industry.
