Power company would not 🚫 hook this customer up to the grid till it was brought up to code. Meter was too high, no outside disconnect, and that feeder cable has no protection from damage. So we coordinated with utility to shut power off up top to install a new one and redo that feeder! ⚡️

Some interesting happenings last week!
Had a trouble call regarding a plastic smell and warm box...inside said box was this! - Measured a ~45a draw on that! - So this was a case of either loose connection or failed splice. Either way more resistance was introduced into the circuit and under that kind of load this thing became a HEATER! 🔥 🥵 Solution was to cut away the damage and redo the splice box with fresh ingredients!
