Most people will not take the time to properly prolong your deck! Tape will help with the longevity of the wood. When installing trex or other synthetic materials, condensation will accumulate under the deck and that water or ice (in winter months) either sits under and rots away at the wood or with using zip-tape, G-tape or any other flashing product it prevents a vast amount of water from sitting and soaking into the wood. This will prolong your deck structure for many years. As you can see in the photos if it's a horizontal or vertical surface, where you will be installing a synthetic board apply some sort of barrier. The clients will thank you years doen the road! (P.S. Dont forget to Roll The Tape)
