The Tree Doctor

The Tree Doctor Full-service tree care company, specializing in fine pruning and plant health care (insect and disease management). Hemlock Wooly Adelgid, Scale.

Owned and operated by an independent, ISA-certified arborist. I believe the health, beauty, and productivity of your landscape can be most cost-effectively sustained using natural and nontoxic methods of pest and disease control first and foremost. I research the least harmful, most effective treatments possible and employ preventative cultural techniques and OMRI-listed organic pesticides, fungic

ides, and bioinsecticides for control. I have a responsibility as a caretaker of plants to recognize that landscapes are not isolated from each other, but are parts of an interconnected ecosystem, and by employing the least-toxic methods possible we can preserve the beauty of our landscapes while protecting the health of our families and neighbors. It is said that the best fertilizer is the gardener's shadow; similarly, the best pest and disease control is achieved by a monitoring, prevention, and treatment program implemented by a certified Arborist and Integrated Pest Management specialist. The core of our plant health care program is personalized monthly monitoring and the application of preventative controls:
Inspection – Entire landscape carefully inspected each month for insect pests, disease problems, noxious w**ds, and deer damage. Identification – Insect pests and diseases identified and populations / extent of disease monitored. Pruning – Diseased or heavily insect-damaged areas of plants pruned out to prevent spread of condition. Spray – Vulnerable plants treated with botanical insecticides / miticides / fungicides to control pest and disease build-up while having minimal impact on beneficial insects. W**d Treatment – Poison ivy and other requested noxious w**ds treated with organic W**d-B-Gone each month. I will keep your property poison-ivy-free all season. Deer Treatment – Deer-damaged or deer-susceptible plants treated with non-toxic deer repellant each month as necessary. Report – Observations, treatments performed reported and any recommendations for further care made. Additional Services:
Fine pruning and removal of trees and shrubs. Tree trunk injections to prevent Emerald Ash Borer, Sycamore Anthracnose, and Dutch Elm Disease, Oak Wilt, etc. Tree trunk sprays to prevent wood-boring insects and bark disease. Systemic treatments of trees and shrubs to cure severe insect infestations and prevent future ones, e.g. Large-scale poison ivy and w**d treatments. Tick and ant treatments. What makes The Tree Doctor different? I am a flexible small business, and I work closely with clients to make sure my work adheres to their personal priorities and budget. I am always accountable and stand behind my work 100%; the same person giving you the estimate will be doing the work. I am a trained and licensed arborist and actively research the latest, most effective, least toxic remedies for your plant care needs. I welcome challenging and novel situations. Please call me; I am here to help!

The fruiting body of Gymnosporangium juniperi-virginianae, Cedar Apple Rust. Textbook case too: growing on a Eastern red cedar right next to a bunch of apple trees. I clipped it off and threw it out; hopefully the spores did not make it to the nearby apples. Step two: spray apples with copper fungicide to suppress spores germination on their leaves...

Need temporary helper (2 weeks about) to run ropes while I climb, drag brush, and prune shrubs and small trees. You need reliable transportation to get to the job sites. Pay is cash, most days are 6-7 hours on site. This could turn into a full-time position for next season if it works out. Experience in tree work / landscaping helpful but not required as long as you have a good work ethic.
