The Ice-Cold Temperatures that kept us away from Flipping the Compost pile over the weekend had Little to no effect on the internal oven of creation. Coming in at 150 degrees on Monday morning, with snow blanketing the pile, I believe it is safe to say that this organic is and getting close to being ready to bring forth many forms of life come Spring. Monday marked flip #14 and today was #15. Come Friday the pile will be Flipped and moved, #18 to be "in contact with the earth" as it settles in and stews for the rest of the winter.

Been awhile since I posted, I thought this might be beneficial to those out there who practice composting or are in need of food for Hydrangeas, Broadleaf or Needled Conifers or any Acid loving perennial or annual plants. The inoculated horse manure has naturally been mixed with Pine shavings in the pen and are inherently acidic. We layer this manure with in a 1 to 1 ratio, in this case approx. 4 cubic meters. We add approx. 1.50 cubic feet of farm bio-char, 1) 50 lb. bag of pulverized dolomitic limestone, (key to replacing the calcium magnesium in the soil), and then sprinkle granular Sulfur which is the transformative agent used by the plants when they swell into flower. Aeriated and mix for a bout 10 mins then it’s off to our client's house to be placed around the plants in need so come next season all of the treated plants can actualize their inherent potential ^
